Mr♥Mrs

Mr. Robert Montgomery

This is my husband. Isn't he handsome? :)
I love him so very much. He joined the Navy in 2009.
We survived a 6 month deployment in 2011, &
we're currently surviving our 2nd deployment of 9-10 months.
He enjoys playing video games & being active outdoors.
He always talks about how excited he is to do things
with me
such as volunteer work,
taking classes (dancing, rock climbing, martial arts, etc...), traveling, & more. His dirty clothes don't always make it in the laundry basket, but we're working on that =P

Mrs. Darlene Montgomery
I have 3 Associate of Arts Degrees (Liberal Arts,
Humanities, & Social & Behavioral Sciences)
& a Bachelor's Degree in Drama. I have a passion
for singing & acting. Some of my other hobbies
include photography, making home videos,
dancing, modeling, reading, scrapbooking,
jewelry making, & arts & crafts. I also have a
special place in my heart for traveling, volunteer
work, & wanting to learn different languages
(especially Tagalog & getting better at American Sign Language).

♥How We Met♥

Young Love

We first met in 1998 in the 3rd grade. I remember wanting to impress Robert by showing him my front handspring at recess. We became best friends & quickly developed a crush on each other.
My family & I moved away after my 8th grade year in 2003. We reconnected when I was invited to homecoming at the high school in my hometown in 2004 during our Sophomore year. Robert was on the football team & we saw each other at the Homecoming Game. We then got in contact with each other via MySpace & AIM & once again, feelings for each other quickly developed, although my feelings for Robert never went away when I moved.
We officially became a couple on July 1st, 2007 when I asked Robert out. It was my way of saying I was ready to have my first boyfriend & be in a long distance relationship. After all, Robert did ask me out for a week straight in 2005 & I kept saying no. I figured it was my turn to ask him out this time around. We exchanged promise rings in October 2009 while attending the Navy Day Ball where Robert was stationed at the time. We have been in a long distance relationship ever since the beginning, but that all changed after our wedding when I finally moved across the country to be with my husband!

♥The Proposal♥

Love knows no distance

I flew to Florida the last weekend before my senior year in college to visit Robert for the first time since he got stationed there. I was only visiting for a few days but it was a trip we would never forget! We  went out to dinner, the movies, the beach, & just enjoyed being able to spend time together. On Saturday, September 18th, Robert took me shopping before taking me to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner.

After dinner we got back to the hotel to pick up blankets so we could lay out on the beach. Before leaving we realized we didn't take very many pictures that day, so Robert decided to set the timer on our camera & balance it on top of the microwave. After taking 2 shots Robert said, "lets take more pictures". During the 3rd shot I got ready to pose for the camera while Robert got down on one knee & asked me to marry him (but not before calling my parents & asking for their blessing)!!! As soon as he pulled out the black box containing my engagement ring, I quickly covered my mouth in shock! I kept saying, "Oh my gosh!", "Really?, "Did you really just ask me to marry you?", "Are you sure?!". It took a little while before Robert said, "Yes! Well....?". My reply was, "Oh my gosh! I'm sorry! Yes! Yes! Of course, yes!". After I took off my promise ring, Robert put the engagement ring on my finger & grabbed a teddy bear that he had bought for me. Still in shock, I used the teddy bear to cover my face as we stood there holding each other. When I said, "I think I'm going to start crying", Robert replied with, "Honey... you already are." After many kisses & hugs, we finally made it to the beach to lay out under stars.

The next day, happy & newly engaged, we spent the morning taking pictures on the beach before I had to leave. That trip was the only time I said goodbye without crying because I was too happy to be sad about leaving. I went to Florida on a Thursday & came back to California on Sunday ENGAGED to my best friend, soulmate, & love of my life! I started my senior year in college the next day with a big smile on my face & a new beautiful diamond ring on my finger.

♥Our Wedding Day♥

From 3rd grade crushes to husband & wife

This was truly one of the happiest days of my life. It was the day that I finally got to marry my best friend, 3rd grade crush, soulmate, love of my life, man of my dreams, favorite sailor, hero, & my everything... the list can go on. All of the hardships we had to face during our 5 years of a long distance relationship, 3 years of a military relationship, & wedding planning was all worth it when we finally got to say, "I do" & celebrate our love with our family & friends. We're happy to finally start our lives together as husband & wife, just like God had planned for us.
♥ Our love is worth it. Our love was worth the wait.
